Ticket prices at Turkish heritage sites are revised regularly — usually once a year. Below are the current 2026 fees for the main sites around Ephesus, followed by the local money advice that actually saves you time and trouble at the gate.
Prices last updated: January 2026. Fees are set by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and can change without much notice; we re-confirm the exact figures with every itinerary we quote.
| Site | 2026 price | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Ephesus Ancient City | €40 | The essential ticket; the region's premium site |
| Terrace Houses | €15 | Separate ticket inside Ephesus; underrated, add ~45 minutes |
| Ephesus Archaeological Museum (Selcuk) | €10 | Pairs perfectly with the ruins; the Artemis statues live here |
| Basilica of Saint John | €6 | On Ayasuluk Hill above Selcuk |
| House of the Virgin Mary | ≈€18 | Payable in lira or by card; Museum Pass not accepted here |
| Temple of Artemis | Free | Open site; storks included at no charge |
| Sirince Village | Free | You will, however, buy wine — resistance is rare |
| Isa Bey Mosque | Free | Closed to visits during Friday midday prayers |
Local money advice
Three tips from years of walking guests to these gates. First — and this one surprises many visitors — euro cash is not accepted at the state ticket booths. Prices are quoted in euros, but at the gate you pay by card or in Turkish lira, so carry a card or some lira. Second, children under 8 enter free at the state sites. Third, entrance fees are not included in tour prices (this is standard for private tours, so you pay only for what you actually enter) — but your guide handles the queues, which in high season is worth more than any discount.
A note on the Museum Pass and "MüzeKart"
You may read online that you can save money with a "MüzeKart" — but MüzeKart is an annual pass for residents of Türkiye only, and foreign visitors cannot use it. What travellers can buy is the separate Museum Pass Türkiye (or a regional Aegean version), which bundles several state sites; if your trip takes in museums beyond Ephesus, ask us whether it works out cheaper for your route. Note that the House of the Virgin Mary is run by a foundation, not the state, so no museum pass covers it — you always pay separately there.
