Ephesus Tours by Locals cares about protecting your privacy. We only use the information we collect about you lawfully, and we collect it only to arrange and deliver the services you request. What we collect
When you send a booking request or contact us, we collect the details you provide: your name, email address, phone number and the information needed to arrange your tour (dates, pickup point, group details). We never collect sensitive personal information without your explicit consent, and we work to keep the information we hold accurate and up to date.
Newsletters
If we operate a newsletter announcing our best offers, you may unsubscribe at any time — just let us know and we will remove your email address from the list promptly.
Technical data
When you access our website, your browser provides technical information such as your IP address, browser type, access time and referring URL. We use this in aggregate to compile statistics and improve the website and the services we offer.
Your rights under GDPR and KVKK
We handle personal data in line with both the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK). Under these laws you have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email info@ephesustoursbylocals.com; we respond within one month. If you believe we have mishandled your data, you may also complain to your local data-protection authority (in Turkey, the KVKK Board).
Cookies
We use two measurement tools on this site, and both set cookies. Google Analytics 4 counts visits and shows us which pages people actually read (cookies beginning _ga). Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used — clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, replayed as anonymous session recordings and heatmaps — so we can see where the site confuses people and fix it (cookies _clck and _clsk). Neither tool tells us who you are: we never see your name, your email or any payment details through them, and we never sell or share what they collect. We also set one optional language-preference cookie when you choose a language from the flags in the header, so the site remembers your choice. Strictly necessary technical cookies that make the site work may also be set by your browser.
You can refuse all of this. Blocking or deleting cookies in your browser settings stops both tools, and browsers set to “do not track” or private mode limit them further. You can opt out of Google Analytics everywhere with Google’s browser add-on, and Microsoft explains your choices in its privacy statement. Nothing on this site depends on these cookies — every page, the tour information and the booking form work exactly the same without them.
