Biblical Ephesus Tour
The theater of the silversmiths' riot, Mary's hillside home and the tomb of Saint John — scripture and stone, side by side.

The seven letters of Revelation were written to seven real cities on this coast. In three unhurried days, we visit every one of them — in the order John named them.
In the closing book of the Bible, the exiled Apostle John writes down a vision addressed to seven churches of the Roman province of Asia — seven real congregations in seven real cities, each praised or warned in its own short, piercing letter. Every one of those cities lies here, on the western coast and river valleys of Türkiye, within reach of Ephesus. This private three-day tour visits all seven, in the order Revelation names them.
From the great church of Ephesus we travel north to Smyrna and Pergamon, then turn inland through the quieter ruins of Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea — cities most travellers never reach, where you may well have the stones to yourself. At each site your licensed local guide reads John's message to that church where it was first received, and connects the words to the ruins in front of you: the "throne of Satan" at Pergamon, the "lukewarm" waters of Laodicea, the "open door" of Philadelphia.
Because seven cities span real distances, the journey unfolds over three relaxed days with two nights in comfortable hotels along the route, and a private air-conditioned vehicle throughout. You set the pace; we handle every road, gate and detail.
We begin at Ephesus, first of the seven churches: the marble city, the Basilica of Saint John over the apostle's tomb, and the House of the Virgin Mary in the hills. Then north to Smyrna (modern Izmir), the church "faithful unto death," with its restored ancient agora. Overnight at your hotel.
The clifftop acropolis of Pergamon, the church "where Satan's throne is," and the towering Red Basilica below. On to Thyatira (Akhisar), home church of Lydia the purple-cloth seller, then Sardis (Sart) with its vast gymnasium, synagogue and Temple of Artemis. Overnight at your hotel.
Philadelphia (Alaşehir), the church of the "open door," with the surviving pillars of its Byzantine basilica. Finally Laodicea, the "lukewarm" church — a large, beautifully excavated city near Pamukkale — before your drop-off or onward transfer.

All seven named in Revelation chapters 2–3, in order: Ephesus, Smyrna (Izmir), Pergamon (Bergama), Thyatira (Akhisar), Sardis (Sart), Philadelphia (Alaşehir) and Laodicea (near Pamukkale/Denizli).
We pick you up from your hotel or the cruise port in Kusadasi or Selcuk, or from Izmir. The tour can finish back where you started, at Izmir airport, or near Pamukkale if you are continuing your travels — just tell us.
Very much so — we regularly host congregations and study groups, can pace the days around reading and reflection at each site, and arrange larger vehicles for bigger parties.
Comfortable, clean, well-located mid-range hotels with breakfast, chosen along the route to keep driving times reasonable. Tell us if you prefer a particular standard and we will match it.

Every tour is private and tailored to your pace. Send us your date — a local expert replies within 24 hours.
