Passport control takes a few minutes. At the exit your guide holds a sign with your name; the private vehicle is a short walk away. From here Ephesus is 18–20 km, about 25 minutes.

Is there a ferry from Samos to Kusadasi?
Yes. Two operators run fast passenger catamarans between Kusadasi and Samos: Meander Travel (to Vathy and Pythagorio) and Tilos Travel (to Vathy). Boats run daily from mid-May to mid-October, on fewer days in spring and late autumn, and a few times a week in winter. For a day trip from Samos you need the morning Tilos sailing from Samos Town.
How long is the ferry from Samos to Kusadasi?
Between 45 minutes and an hour and a half, depending on the boat and the port — the Samos Town (Vathy) crossing is the quick one. Check-in is an hour before departure, and the boats carry passengers only, no cars.
Do Greek or EU citizens need a visa for a day trip to Turkey?
No. Greek and other EU passport holders enter Turkey visa-free for short visits. Bring your passport — the ferry companies ask for one valid for at least six months — rather than a national ID card.
Can we really see Ephesus in one day from Samos?
Comfortably. With the 09:00 boat you are ashore by 09:45 and inside Ephesus by about 10:30; the ancient city takes two to three hours, lunch an hour, and there is still time for one more site before the 17:00 sailing. Sunday to Friday there is a morning boat from Samos; on Saturdays there is not.
