How much walking is unavoidable?
The core Ephesus walk is about 1.5 kilometers, gently downhill, over roughly two unhurried hours with many pauses. We can shorten it further — tell us your comfort level and we will plan precisely.
Can wheelchair users visit Ephesus?
Yes, on the lower city. Wheelchair users enter and leave by the Lower Gate and see Harbor Street, the Great Theater from below and the square in front of the Library of Celsus; the full downhill walk from the Upper Gate is not wheelchair friendly, and the Terrace Houses (stairs and steel walkways) are not accessible. What exactly do the "helpers" do?
A helper is an extra companion who offers a steady arm on uneven marble, carries bags, manages water and shade, and generally lets you focus on the wonder instead of your footing.
